10/8/18: Western Sugar Explains It All
It's complicated, but promising
An admin at Western Sugar conveys the following points:
- They are not proud of the smell, primarily because it signals inefficiencies in the sugar manufacturing process (inefficient processing = sugar in the wastewater = sugar feeds the microscopic life in the retention pond = dog poop smell)
- They have taken action that should decrease the dog poop smell, including:
- updating its port extractor;
- bringing in new admin; and
- adding an oxidizer to the retention pond.
